This faunal farm and
hunting preserve extends over an
area of more than 1100 hectares
at a 600m altitude. It is located
in one of the most attractive
territories between Tuscany and
Romagna in the very heart of
Italy. It includes all
surrounding hills and valleys and
offers and astonishing view of
the beautiful woods, country land
and pasturing flocks.
The ancient stone cottages
carefully restored and
distributed all over the
territory offer different types
of accommodation : ensuite rooms
and flats provided with heating,
telephone, television set,
bathroom with shower and totally
equipped kitchenette.
The domain includes 20km of
walking paths and biking and
horse riding circuits. They skirt
rivulets and cascades, a small
lake, game breeding areas, wide
century old forests and chestnut
woods. One of the promenades
leads to the Badia, which is a
small medieval restored and very
suggestive abbey, from which the
domain takes its name.
Besides the breeding of deer,
wild boars, hares and pheasants a
great variety of other animals
can be seen in the farm, such as
cows in the barns, horses in the
manege, sheep flocks on the
fields and loose foxes, squirrels,
birds of prey and a lot of other
species.
Inside the preserve there is a
small swimming pool equipped with
sun beds and a panoramic
restaurant offering a very tasty
cuisine composed of typical
Italian dishes based on tortelli,
polenta, mushrooms, truffles,
grilled meat and wild game meat
hunted in the domain. The food is
served outside, overlooking the
silent and breathtaking landscape
or inside, in a warm and rural
setting.
